Hadley Beckett has a long way to go on the heartbreaking and unforgiving road to redemption.

As she continues to recover, her family and friends rally around her, each having their own idea about how to help Hadley heal, as honest or misguided they may be.

Hang on for this uncertain journey with Hadley as she discovers truths she never knew existed, and uncovers lies she thought were her reality. Through all the hardship, she'll find this isn't the finale for her. It's a fresh start. Yet, after the catastrophic end she had feared for three years came true, a fresh start may be an unexpected ignition to a new explosion, learning the road to Hell is paved with good intentions, and sticks of dynamite.

I don't really know how to articulate in the proper words how this series has affected me. I feel like there are only so many words in the dictionary and STILL I don't feel like they are adequate. This series has been an obsession of mine since the first book. It is highly recommended that you read them in order: Chasing the Wild Sparks, Daring the Wild Sparks, Igniting the Wild Sparks, and The Keys to Jericho before reading this.

"I'm just...surviving...the best and only way I know how. I'm existing. Can't that be enough?"

For me, the above statements are the tone of this book. It gives you raw, real, and screwed up emotions. It is a story of battles within a person when they have reached the breaking point. It is the story of a woman who has endured so much and has only been able to exist. Barely able to get out of the bed, barely able to stomach anything, barely able to show any emotion. Existing just to be able to survive, barely.

Hadley is the main character in this book and the author did not pull any punches with this one. You are given a front row seat into Hadley's frame of mind and the choices she makes since everything that happened to her in Igniting the Wild Sparks. The masterful weaving of words left me on an edge of breathlessness eager for more anxiousness, for more chaos, for more drama. I was holding on for dear life! My soul felt the emotional beating that Hadley was enduring and just left my heart aching from the mirage of happiness that she was portraying.

I think by the end of this book I felt like I went through 12 rounds of intense emotional battle and I came out of the ring feeling like Rocky Balboa after his match with Apollo Creed. AND I STILL WANT MORE!!!!! I admit to being a masochist because this book pulls me by the heartstrings and yanks my soul out, yet it is beautifully raw that it would be poisonous to my health to not want more.

If I could I would rate this book at a 98 out of 100 stars because it is messed up enough to not be perfect, yet it is so perfect with its imperfection.

Enduring the Wild Sparks eBook Ren Alexander Reviews

It’s taken me awhile to gather my thoughts about the emotional rollercoaster Ms. Alexander puts her characters and her readers through. I had to step back and recover from one of the most severe book hangovers I’ve ever experienced. Finally, several weeks later, I am ready to confront the book that evoked such a deep-seated response.
Since I read the first book by Ren Alexander, Chasing the Wild Sparks, I have been hooked on her characters. Throughout the three previous books in the series, Hadley, Finn, Dash, Jared, and Rod have become almost like dear friends. Morgan, however, can rot in hell. I haven’t liked her from the first time she appeared in the series. Hopefully, there is a special place in book hell for Hadley’s “friend.”
Ms. Alexander is known for not following the traditional HEA formula, three books and then the goal, happily ever after. I firmly believe that an author deserves to unfold a story in whatever way they see it in their brain. Enduring the Wild Sparks is book four in the series and picks up the story of a very shattered Hadley from the last book. Hadley endures so much heartache that it amazes me that she is still standing. Finn’s betrayal, and the ensuing health issues after his departure, shakes her to the core. Not only is her body and soul shattered; her faith in a future is annihilated. Her friends and family try to support her, but she is less than receptive to their help.
I love the writing style of this author and the fact that she delves deeply into her characters and their interactions. When Hadley tries to move forward from her losses and tries to find a new relationship, several scenarios play havoc with her and the reader. Friendships are tested, secret feelings revealed, and hearts are broken. Hadley has always leaned on her small circle of friends and her family, but in her current mental state, she feels that everyone has betrayed her in some way. Little does she know that she has been betrayed in more ways than she knows and by someone she would never suspect. That bombshell rocks the characters as well as the reader. The lingering question is why.
I like long books; Ms. Alexander’s The Keys to Jericho is one of my favorites. This book pulls the reader into the pages, in such a way that the reader doesn’t realize or care how long it is. The writing in clear and well paced, while the author puts her readers through the full range of emotions. There were genuinely humorous parts, great character banter, and some very emotional, heart-wrenching scenes. I’m not a big crier when it comes to books, but more than one tear was shed during reading. Hadley’s story is not complete, and I anxiously await the next book to answer the questions raised in Enduring the Wild Sparks.
